A SINGLE: Innocence

So I think I must have taken a chill pill or something, because I went from making a track like "Saturday Afternoon Oatmeal" to writing a song like the one you are about to listen to. It might have something to do with being in the middle of producing more of an acoustic artist, or maybe with watching the heima dvd again recently... or... most likely its due to the fact that life has been smacking me in the face a lot over the last few weeks, resulting in a much more somber/melancholy countenance. With all that said here is the song...

how i long for that place in time
when how i was doing was more than fine

but now these days have taken their toll
a life full of wonder now seems old

the littlest things i used to adore
are now overshadowed by death and war

fainter and fainter grows the music that played
a world bright with color now seems grey

oh to be like a child
to live free and run wild
life was simple life was sure
our hearts unscarred our minds so pure
