I got some film in the mail today, so I figured I'd try out the old 103 that Bre & I had found. I cleaned the corrosion off of the battery leads. It takes this old Eveready #532, a 3V battery with 9V style snap connectors on top and bottom. Obviously the battery in it had corroded, so I took it out and cleaned the leads in white vinegar. I then used a current similar sized 3V battery that doesn't have snap connectors, the CR123 (used in many 35mm cameras). Since the connectors wouldn't really make contact with the battery, I used some aluminum foil and a rubber band.
OLD BATTERY
I had purchased a readily available film that fits most of the early land camera models, Fujifilm FP-3000B (they also have a couple other films that work, but I figured I'd try this first). I loaded that up, and got right away to a few test shots. I ran outside for the first, hoping there was still enough light out (it wasn't dark yet), but alas it was too dark (even on a high light setting). Then ran inside and tried a bit-too-close-up of my monome. I still have lots of learning to do. Still trying to fully understand how its viewfinder works (and the separate focus hole). The monome is blurry because I was obviously too close for the camera to focus (I guess I should keep my eye out for a macro kit).

TOO CLOSE
